Grant Training Initiative and Study
AEMS is a community-based, volunteer organization committed to enhancing emergency medical services (EMS) and trauma care for the Central Arizona region, encompassing Maricopa, Pinal, and Gila counties.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AEMS has been fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, and hospital administrators since 1975. Our primary goal is to ensure the coordinated delivery of emergency medical care that effectively addresses the needs of the public.

Each Region is charged with selecting a finalist to receive this award, which recognizes outstanding EMCTs across Arizona who have gone above and beyond to serve their communities. The AEMS Board of Governors and Functional Group Voting members will select the EMCT of the Year finalist for the Central Region.

The 2024 changes to the Central Arizona Regional EMS Guidelines were approved 11/2023 and go into effect 1/15/2024. They are now published on AEMS website.

You are invited to participate in a FREE online OBLS event. The 2nd Annual Obstetric Life Support (OBLS) Conference on 'Emerging Topics in Maternal Cardiovascular Disease' will be held February 2, 2024, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm ET. This one-day virtual conference will explore emerging topics, trends and treatments of maternal medical emergencies and maternal cardiovascular diseases. The target audience are healthcare professionals from pre-hospital and hospital-based sectors across the United States that care for reproductive-age women.
Invited speakers include experts in maternal mortality, cardio obstetrics, resuscitation, maternal stroke and emergency response. Topics are wide-ranging and include discussions on emerging topics in severe maternal morbidity and mortality, modifications of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in pregnancy, special procedures such as extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation used in pregnancy, postpartum maternal cardiac arrest, and preparing first responders for maternal medical emergencies.
The keynote speakers are Dr. Lisa Hollier, the Senior Medical Advisory for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Maternal Mortality Prevention Team based in Washington, D.C. and Dr. Sharon Phelan, a nationally recognized Obstetrics & Gynecology specialist in Albuquerque, NM with over 40+ years of experience in the medical field and a focused interest on maternal cardiac arrest training for prehospital healthcare workers in rural contexts.

Join healthcare colleagues in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona for a conference focusing on emergency care for pediatrics in both the pre-hospital and hospital setting. Among those presenting are nationally recognized physicians, emergency nurses and first responders. Day 1 is a series of hands-on simulation labs. Day 2 will be a full day of educational lectures.
