Arizona Emergency Medical Systems, Inc. (AEMS) is a community-based, volunteer organization committed to enhancing emergency medical services (EMS) and trauma care for the Central Arizona region, encompassing Maricopa, Pinal, and Gila counties.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AEMS has been fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, and hospital administrators since 1975. Our primary goal is to ensure the coordinated delivery of emergency medical care that effectively addresses the needs of the public.

Central Arizona Regional EMS Coordinating System (aka the Regional EMS Council)

AEMS functions as the Central Arizona Regional EMS Coordinating System, also known as the Regional EMS Council. This role is undertaken on behalf of the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma System (BEMSTS).

AEMS operates under the authority of Arizona Revised Statute A.R.S. §36-2210 and §36-2208, which empowers the organization to facilitate coordination among all entities participating in the EMS system across Maricopa, Pinal, and Gila Counties. Through this mandate, AEMS establishes a communication platform for the various active agencies involved in patient management throughout the broader AEMS region.

We invite you to explore our website and consider joining AEMS as a member, volunteer, or donor. By working together, we can have a profound impact on the quality of emergency medical and trauma care available to our communities in central Arizona.

We genuinely appreciate your interest in and support of AEMS. Thank you for considering our organization as you contribute to the advancement of emergency medical services and the well-being of our region.
