As previously discussed, we will be adding the PediSTAT calculator to the CAREMSG. Go live is scheduled for Monday, July 7th.
Click the button below for instructions on how to use PediSTAT integrations with the CARES Guidelines:
PediSTAT has several pharmacists that reviewed all of our guidelines to ensure correct dosing. As mentioned at the last CAREMDC meeting, the calculator identified some dosing changes that needed to be made to conform with the weight-based dosing algorithm and clear up dosing ambiguity. The guidelines still list an option to use a lower dose for patients over a certain age; however, the calculator will calculate the fixed weight-based dose. This EMS Week offers a fitting moment to reflect on AEMS' 50 year history of working together to enhance EMS systems and improve patient care for our Central Region communities.
Over these five decades, AEMS has been built by ALL of you - and by the many who came before you - each playing a role in the success we share and the legacy we proudly celebrate this year.
While this video presentation highlights this year’s Arizona Department of Health Services Central Region award recipients - including the EMCT of the Year, fellow nominees, and trauma honorees - it was also created to express appreciation for everyone who has been part of AEMS over the years.
We hope you enjoy this collection of photos highlighting just some of the many people who have been part of AEMS through the decades. While not fully inclusive, this presentation offers a glimpse into our shared history and serves as a prelude to a more comprehensive tribute - coming soon - celebrating our 50th Anniversary.
Our partners in ADHS Prevention are hosting a virtual 2025 Stroke, EMS, Tribal and Rural Summit next Thursday, May 22, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Summit topics include:

The 2025 changes to the Central Arizona Regional EMS Guidelines (CAREMSG) were approved 11/2024 and go into effect 1/15/2024. The CAREMSG with the 2025 changes are now published on AEMS website.
